It is the largest bay of Phuket and the principal boat anchorage. The bay is 11 kilometres south of the town. Chalong bay is very picturesque but not suitable for swimming. Boats can be chartered to go to some small island south of Phuket. A number of restaurants are on the road leading to the bay. Kalim Beach Kalim Beach is a series of small beaches located just north of Patong on Phuket. At low tide, it is a mass of corals right off shore. The corals may appear a dull brown color but they contain an amazing number of living creatures. Karon Beach Karon Beach is one of the popular beaches of Phuket.
