Phuket is the largest island in Thailand. It is situated off the west coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea. Phuket is connected to mainland Thailand by a bridge. In the past, Phuket is known by its wealth from tin and rubber, but now the island is a famous tourist spot. Phuket has beautiful beaches, like Hat Patong, Laem Phromthep and Hat Karon. Since Phuket is a retirement destinations, there are many hotels, condominiums and apartments constructed. From this point, Phuket earns its wealth from tourism and became Thailand’s wealthiest province. Besides natural attractions, Phuket has many interesting cultural festivals and events, such as Phuket Vegetarian Festival, Seafood Festival, Laguna Phuket Triathlon, Phuket Gay Festival, Songkran and  Loi Krathong festival. The high season at Phuket is from November to May.

Chalong Bay Chalong Bay or Ao Chalong is bay located on the east coast of Phuket. It is the largest bay of Phuket and the principal boat anchorage. The bay is 11 kilometres south of the town. Chalong bay is very picturesque but not suitable for swimming. Boats can be chartered to go to some small island south of Phuket. A number of restaurants are on the road leading to the bay.
Kalim Beach Kalim Beach is a series of small beaches located just north of Patong on Phuket. At low tide, it is a mass of corals right off shore. The corals may appear a dull brown color but they contain an amazing number of living creatures.
Bang Thao Beach (Laguna Beach) Bang Thao or Bang Tao beach, Laguna Beach, is a beach located on northwestern side of Phuket. It is a large open bay with one of longest beaches of Phuket. It was once used for tin mining, but has since been developed into a luxury resort.
Phuket FantaSea Phuket FantaSea is night entertainment theme park located in Kamala beach. The park features numerous attractions and adventure into Thailand’s ancient culture and realm of myths.
Kata Beach Kata Beach is on the west coast of Phuket, located in the south of Karon Beach. It consists of Kata Yai beach and Kata Noi beach. It is situated 20 kilometres from town, beautiful Kata is a scenic gem, its clear water flanked by hills, and picturesque Pu Island sits offshore.
Phuket Vegetarian Festival Vegetarian festival in Phuket began in 1825, when the govenor of Thalang, Praya Jerm, moved the principal town from Ta Reua in Thalang District to Get-Hoe in Kathu District, where were tin mines and Chinese miners.
Phuket Old Town Phuket has a long history with a multi-racial culture. Around Thalang, Dibuk and Krabi roads, there is a heritage of the old days of Phuket. You will see beautiful architecture along these roads will take you back the magnificent of a century ago.
Songkran in Phuket Songkran Festival is the traditional Thai New Year celebrated on April 13th. Families and friends gather to celebrate by visiting temples, sprinkling water on Buddha images in reverence, and sprinkling water on the hands of each other as an act of wishing good luck.
Phuket Nightlife:Patong Beach Nightlife Patong was a wild and sleazy area in Phuket. It was once considered not suitable for well-mannered people. Anyway, now the area is developed and upgraded. Women, couples and family can go there to enjoy many kinds of entertainment.
Racha Islands The Racha (or Raya) islands, some 12 km south of Phuket, are best known as excellent diving and snorkelling daytrip destinations. Racha Yai, however, is quickly developing into a place to stay on for a while with a number of bungalow and resort operations springing up in recent years.
Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai are a pair of large islands in the middle of Phang Nga Bay, equidistant to Phuket and the Krabi mainland. While the pace of development is accelerating on Koh Yao Noi in particular, the islands remain a quiet refuge that feels far removed from the crowds of Phuket.
Coral Island, Phuket Coral Island, or as known locally as Koh Hae, is a beautiful destination located nine kilometres southeast of Phuket. The island features two main beaches, Long Beach and Banana Beach. It is not called Coral Island because the snorkeling off Banana Beach is thrilling and far from Long, three is magically impressive coral reef.
Kamala Beach, Phuket Kamala Beach or Kammala beach, is on the west coast of Phuket, just to the north of Patong, and south of Surin Beach. If you take taxi, it is about 500 baht from the airport.
Surin Beach, Phuket Surin Beach is a beach on the west coast of Phuket, it is about 15 km north of Patong beach. Surin Beach still has a small village atmosphere, but this is gradually changing as more and more major housing developments
Rawai Beach Rawai or Hat Rawai is a beach in Phuket. It is well-known for the sea food restaurants. In the North of Rawai beach is Hat Mittraphap, while the southern section has a village and port called Laem Ka.
Phuket Beach : Laem Sing Laem Sing is a beach in Phuket, 1 kilometer from Surin Beach. The name means Point of Lions. The beach is in a small, curving bay with rocky headlands at the foot of forest-fringed cliffs and is among most beautiful spots of Phuket. Look for signs indicating the path down to the beach.
Karon Beach Karon Beach is one of the popular beaches of Phuket. It is a popular destination for tourists, although it is generally quieter than neighbouring Patong Beach, it is especially popular among families and couples, but less popular with singles than Patong.
Patong Beach Phuket's central tourist and night time entertainment district. Over the year, Patong has turned from a fishing village into one of the island’‘s two cities. The famous bay and 4 km. beach remain as they were, with development limited to the area back of the beach road. There, however, virtually every kind of entertainment imaginable awaits visitors, with bars catering to every nationality. Live music can be found in many places, and there are also discotheques. Accommodations range from budget to five-star.
Weather in Phuket Phuket has three seasons, but mostly it is hot and humid. The cool season (actually quite hot), the hot season (very hot), and the rainy season (hot and wet).
